EN - The battle of the cities seems to have shifted from the military to the architectural field. During this period there was an intense dispute to show which was the biggest, the richest and the most imposing. Great works were carried out, monumental buildings, building complexes and mainly temples and churches with an innovative and luxurious architecture.

PT - A batalha das cidades parece ter mudado do campo militar para o campo arquitetônico. Neste período existia uma disputa intensa para mostrar qual era a maior, a mais rica e a mais imponente. Grandes obras eram executadas, prédios monumentais, complexos de edifícios e principalmente templos e igrejas com uma arquitetura inovadora e luxuosa.
